I’ve always believed that the ocean remembers birthdays better than people do. Maybe that sounds strange, but when I started imagining this scene, it felt obvious.
Deep below the surface, where sunlight turns into soft blue echoes, a quiet celebration begins. Jellyfish spirits drift slowly through the water, their translucent bodies glowing like lanterns. They aren’t in a hurry. Birthdays, after all, are not meant to be rushed. Dolphins circle playfully, leaving trails of bubbles that sparkle like laughter frozen in motion.
At the center of the scene, a wide coral platform holds a large birthday cake—soft layers, glowing decorations, and candles that somehow burn steadily underwater. Nearby, a mermaid floats gracefully, a small crown resting on her head, not as a symbol of power, but of care. She watches over the celebration, smiling as the spirits gather closer.

Jellyfish & Dolphin Spirit Concept
Rather than focusing on a single creature, this design blends multiple gentle ocean symbols into one shared fantasy space.
The Jellyfish Spirits are humanoid in posture but soft and floating in movement. Their bodies are semi-transparent, with glowing inner cores and rounded chibi proportions. Long, ribbon-like tendrils drift behind them, functioning more like scarves than tentacles. They represent emotion, memory, and calm joy.
The Dolphin Companions are smaller, playful spirits that interact constantly with the environment. They leap, spin, and circle the cake and balloons, adding energy to the scene. Their design is simplified and friendly, avoiding realism in favor of expressive shapes and soft gradients.
The Mermaid Figure is not the focus of power, but the emotional anchor. Her crown is small, rounded, and decorative—almost childlike. She represents protection, celebration, and the feeling of being seen on your birthday.
Birthday Scene Design
The scene is intentionally full. A birthday should never feel empty.
The cake sits at the center, layered and softly glowing, decorated with ocean-themed details like star-shaped sugar pieces and pearl-like highlights. At least seven visible characters and spirits surround it—jellyfish drifting, dolphins leaping, the mermaid hovering calmly nearby.
Balloons float freely, not tied down, emphasizing the dreamlike logic of the deep sea. Light particles, bubbles, and glowing jellyfish pulses fill the background, ensuring the image works beautifully as a photo backdrop without feeling cluttered.
Banner Text & “Happy Birthday” Typography Design
The words “Happy Birthday” appear as a custom, original font designed specifically for this underwater world. The letters are rounded and slightly inflated, inspired by bubbles and soft jellyfish bells. Each character has gentle curves and subtle glow edges, making it readable against dark ocean tones.
Tiny crown motifs, jellyfish arcs, and wave-like strokes are subtly integrated into the typography. The result feels playful, magical, and handcrafted—clearly 3D chibi fantasy, clearly original, and perfect for a birthday background.

Why I Created This
I created this artwork because I wanted a birthday scene that feels soothing. Not every celebration needs fireworks. Some birthdays are quiet, reflective, and deeply personal. The deep sea felt like the perfect metaphor—a place where emotions move slowly, but meaning runs deep.
