When I began this design, I wasn’t thinking about angels as figures with wings or hierarchy.
I was thinking about the quiet kind of love often found in old North American love stories — the kind where love isn’t dramatic, but enduring; not commanding, but present.
That feeling became the core of this wedding banner.
Instead of borrowing any known myth or character, I created two entirely original fantasy beings: the Aurelight Vowkeepers. They exist only in this artwork. They are not animals, not humans, and not religious icons. They are imagined as living light — a visual metaphor for the way love witnesses a promise without owning it.
The Magical Beings · Aurelight Vowkeepers
The Aurelight Vowkeepers appear as two complementary forms made of soft radiance, flowing curves, and layered light. Their silhouettes subtly echo angelic motion — upward, protective, gentle — but never resolve into wings, faces, or bodies.
They float slightly behind and above the couple, never in front.
That placement is intentional.
I wanted them to feel like witnesses, not centerpieces. Their role is to hold the vows for a moment, then let them go.
The Couple & The Scene
At the center of the banner, two figures stand side by side, shown only from the back.
Their identities are suggested through posture and closeness, not gender markers. Shadow and light replace detail, allowing the couple to represent any two people choosing one another.
Around them, familiar wedding elements ground the fantasy:
- Fresh wedding flowers, including roses and seasonal blooms
- Floating balloons adding movement and celebration
- Subtle heart-shaped light motifs woven into the atmosphere
- A bright, joyful color palette that photographs beautifully
The scene is intentionally open and balanced, making it ideal as a photo background wall where guests naturally become part of the artwork.
The Vow · Short, Symbolic, and Copyright-Safe
The vow text is brief by design. It appears as glowing lettering shaped by the Aurelight Vowkeepers themselves, as if the words are being carried by light.
Vow Text (Displayed on Banner):
“With the Aurelight watching, I choose you —
today, and every shared tomorrow.”
This wording reflects common North American vow structure while remaining fully original and symbolic.
Design Philosophy
My goal was to create something that feels joyful first and meaningful second.
Many wedding backdrops demand attention. I wanted this one to invite presence.
That’s why the fantasy elements are soft, the figures are turned away, and the space feels breathable.
Everything here is designed to support photography:
- No harsh contrast
- No overpowering symbols
- No overly specific references
Just warmth, celebration, and a sense of shared beginning.
Creative Process
I started with light instead of line. I painted motion before form, then slowly removed details until only emotion remained. Whenever something felt too literal, I softened it.
The couple came last. I intentionally avoided facial features or clothing detail so the banner wouldn’t feel tied to a single identity or moment. This way, every couple standing in front of it can see themselves there.
The vow text was treated as atmosphere rather than typography — something that belongs to the moment, not the surface.
Where This Banner Belongs
This design works especially well in:
- Wedding ceremony backdrop walls
- Reception photo zones
- Outdoor garden weddings
- Inclusive and gender-neutral celebrations
- Wedding venues seeking soft fantasy aesthetics
It complements both modern and classic North American wedding styles without overpowering the space.
